La Jolla, CA - 8/15 - 8/20/2016

We're at my sister's place in La Jolla for the next six days.  After all of the driving and sightseeing, this will be a relaxing visit with my sister, brother-in-law and my Mom.  Everyone is doing well here and my Mom will be celebrating her 102nd birthday in early September.  I can tell that she is slowing down but that is to be expected.  She is in good health and the only issue is that she is getting pretty hard of hearing but refuses to wear her hearing aides as she believes that she hears fine without them.

On Tuesday, I drove the RV over to La Mesa RV in San Diego for service.  Left it there for two days and picked it up on Thursday.  They had done the oil change and chassis lube and washed it.  Nice to have a clean rig again.  There were a few items under warranty that they were able to fix, one was the drawer we use for the pots and pans,  In a right hand turn it would fly open so I've had to prop it open while we drive to keep it from popping open and then slamming shut as we turned right or left.  They replaced the latch mechanism and that fixed the problem.  One problem they couldn't fix was a water leak that occurs under very peculiar conditions.  If we are stopped in the rain and we then start driving down a grade, we get a momentary leak on the inside of the windshield on the passenger side.  They were able to duplicate the leak so they did verify that it's there but they were unable to figure out where it's coming from.  We'll worry about it after we get home.

We went out for several nice dinners and had a great visit.  We will be leaving Sunday morning, heading east as this road trip nears its end.  We will be heading to Flagstaff, AZ, for our next stop but it will take us two days to get there.
